Some Baseball All Stars Get More Break Than Others

Today is the last day to vote for the 2007 Baseball All Star Game.

Who will get a “hammy pull” or minor injury on the Sunday before the game so they can spend 3 days off at home, insulting the fans who voted them in and gave them a chance to contribute to their league’s home field advantage in the World Series?

I can’t prove anything but there’s a Hall Of Fame-bound outfielder whose initials are K.G. who seems to “twist an ankle” during “All Star Eve”, thereby missing the home run derby and the game. He has not appeared since 1999!

Look for “replaced-injury” or absences in the Baseball Almanac for the last 10 years: 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000 and 1999.
