The low road is the short “high” road of syringes of HGH and steroids, paved with lucrative contracts gained through performance enhancement… properly at the cost of immortalization in the shrine of Cooperstown’s Baseball Hall of Fame.
Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a pot of stew. Many athletes sell their honor for temporary and quite considerable gain. It is hard to feel sad for an athlete who is being compensated millions of dollars a year when he makes himself longer deserving of bronze immortality at baseball’s shrine.
