A Day Without Pro Sports – Trivia

There is one day a year where there are no NFL, MLB, NBA or NHL games.

What is it?

Charles can’t play.

My America-centric apologies to fans of world sports like soccer’s World Cub and cycling‘s Tour de France.

no sports day

  1. The day after the MLB All-Star Game

  2. Actually, there’s more than one day without sports. The day after the MLB All-Star Game, Christmas Eve, and scattered days in October depending on the MLB Postseason schedule.

  3. If Christmas Eve is on a Sunday or Monday you can bet there will be NFL (there was a game on December 24th as recently as 2007). As for as the NHL – on October 22, the opening day of the World Series, there are 5 NHL games scheduled. If the NHL is willing to go head to head against MLB, no reason why they wouldn’t play on off days (i.e. they do).

The question is actually what TWO days of the year are all 4 of the major league sports inactive? The answer being the day BEFORE the MLB all-star game and the day AFTER. Every year. Without exception.
